How long have you been a DJ?

DJ Phlaves, aka Phil Tucker (owner) has 8 years of experience.

What type of equipment do you use?

We use only the top of the line professional DJ equipment. Pioneer, Mackie, SURE, American DJ and Chauvet just to name a few brands.

Do you have a backup plan if something goes wrong?

We have both back up equipment and DJ on stand by for any unforeseen emergency. Luckily we have never needed to use our backup plans... knock on wood!

Do you play requests?

Yes. With the exception of "do not play" or inappropriate songs, we gladly play requests

Do you play vinyl, tapes, mp3s or cd?

We play mostly with cds, but many times we will also use mp3s for fasted request play.

Can we bring our own music for the DJ to play?

Sure! It is your event...

What are your payment terms?

We ask for a 25% retainer fee with your signed Entertainment Agreement.

Do I tip the DJ?

We do not include gratuity on the final contract. 10% to 20% is generally recommended if the DJ did a great job. It is totally up to you.

Will the DJ play overtime if needed?

Usually, but it is at the DJ's discretion. Any overtime must be paid prior to the start of that overtime, and should be discussed with the DJ at least 30 minutes before.

When should we book a DJ?

The best time to book a DJ is as soon as you have a defiant date. For most dates, the actual time can be updated later.

Should we feed the DJ?

This is up to you. Many times the catering director for your event will set aside a special meal or boxed dinner for the DJ if requested by the client. If not, plan according to what the other vendors are requesting. Most times the DJ will not plan on eating, but may grab a snack or sample of the dinner. (so as not to seem rude)
